Promising galloper Don’t Hope Do lived right up to his name on Saturday, producing a determined performance to claim victory over 1000m at Moonee Valley.
Ridden confidently by Thomas Stockdale, the 5yo son of So You Think made it 3 wins from 10 career starts at his first run back for this preparation.
Having been aboard in his recent jump outs, Stockdale knew the horse and his ability well, and when he jumped quickly from the barriers, he didn’t hesitate to show his intent and went straight to the front to control the race.
While he was getting tired late, Don’t Hope Do did enough to hold off any late challengers to the ‘roar’ of his large ownership group who had positioned themselves perfectly in line with the winning post!
The victory marks another step forward for Don’t Hope Do, who looks set for a promising campaign ahead.
