Toward the final lots on day of the Inglis Premier Sale we were excited to land another beautiful The Autumn Sun filly to add to the stable in conjunction with a loyal stable client.
THE AUTUMN SUN is most certainly one of the most anticipated stallions on the planet with his progeny selling unbelievably well throughout the last two sales seasons. The Autumn Sun won an incredible 8 races in what was only a short career, including 5 Group 1 victories. He was one of the classiest three year olds of the modern era and his progeny are only just starting to produce on the track. SZR currently has two fillies by the stallion, both of which Simon has a high opinion of.
LA VELATA is a Japanese bred mare from the family of DEEP IMPACT who is a half sister to two stakes winners in Japan, comfortably the strongest racing jurisdiction worldwide. They breed strong, tough horses and they have produced time and time again when brought to Australia. She has had two to the races for two winners and we’re excited to make it three for three.
The filly was a lovely mover and looks to have all the assets that will make her a quality race filly when she fully develops. She was purchased through the Noorilim Park draft but raised at Arrowfield Stud, Australia’s premier farm that is nothing short of ‘horse heaven’.
