He was one of the best maidens in Victoria but last night Distorted Mission swiftly put an end to that by taking out the $75,000 Sportsbet Future Stars maiden repecharge.
With an excited group of owners on track, hearts were in mouths early as he missed the start. Blaike didn’t panic however, easing the horse into a position just in behind the speed. As the leaders tried to pick up the tempo, Blaike had a wall of horses in front of him but was able to shoulder out, pick up some momentum and charge through the line for what ended up being a soft win.
He now heads to the $300,000 Sportsbet Future Stars Series Final next Thursday night at Pakenham where he will certainly be a live chance.
Congratulations to Debbie and Aaron Kingschott and their wonderful group of owners who have been very patient and are extremely deserving of a nice horse. Let’s hope he can continue his good form into next week.
