HORSE PROFILE
Purchased from a leading NZ farm in Elsdon Park, this filly made the trip all the way to Melbourne for the sale. She won’t be travelling as far to get home, heading straight to Flemington to join the SZR team.
An elegant filly with a great walk, this Ardrossan filly is very athletic and fits the mould Simon is looking for when doing his inspections.
As cliché as it sounds, we had expected this filly to sell for much more than the $80,000 we paid for her and think she is a great value buy for our owners.
PEDIGREE ANALYSIS

One of the 43 sons of the great Redoute’s Choice to sire stakes winners, Ardrossan has been somewhat of a quiet achiever – doing the job without the support of big books and proving to be a strong upgrader. His impressive statistics certainly tell the story, Ardrossan siring seven stakes winners amongst his first 49 winners from just 99 starters. Another six of his progeny are stakes placed a further 15 have won at metropolitan level meaning that over 57% of his winners are at least city class!
A 3/4 brother to the classy Incentivize, Ardrossan won four of his nine starts. Unbeaten at two – winning a Listed race by 3 3/4 lengths – he enhanced his record at four by taking out the Gr.3 Concorde Handicap prior to a gallant and close up Gr.1 third in the BCD Sprint – only just beaten by the wonderful mare Melody Belle.
Bred on a Danzig/Canny Lad/Last Tycoon cross – as is Brancolare – Ardrossan has this lovely filly who is bred on the same Redoute’s Choice/I Am Invincible combination as the recent Golden Slipper winner Guest House and fellow Gr.1 winning juvenile Vinrock. Boasting a cross of the great mare Best In Show (the Last Tycoon/Redoute’s Choice combo that has been so well represented by 19 Gr.1 horses amongst the 126 stakes winners), this colt is out of a half-sister to the stakes winners Mitraad and Combat Kitty from the family of the Group winners Governor’s Bay, Whistle Up, Kiwi Golfer, Just A Rebel and Fire Commander.
