HORSE PROFILE

It’s no secret that Simon is a huge fan of So You Think and his progeny and we think we might have found our next Don’t Hope Do with this colt.

Having inspected every horse in the catalogue, Simon had this colt rated in his top 3 of the sale, so we were delighted to secure him for the SZR stable from Cornerstone Stud.

He’s a half-brother to The Mission and Smart Amelia who were both stakes level performers as two-year olds. He is out of Redoute’s Choice mare My Amelia who was also a winner as a two-year old and has already produced 6 individual winners as a broodmare.

This colt has great strength and is very balanced and well-proportioned – he took Simon with his presence when he stepped out of his box and we are excited to see him develop in our system.

What a champion So You Think was, the Australian Racing Hall Of Fame member who sadly died last spring (this colt from his second last full crop) doing a remarkable job winning his first Gr.1 W.S Cox Plate at just his fourth start and his second at his ninth!

Going on to another eight memorable Gr.1 winners locally and in England and Ireland, So You Think has done a great job passing on his quality to his progeny with 68 stakes winners; 12 of those being Gr.1 horses.

This colt, who has that classic pretty head of the So You Think breed, is bred on the same successful So You Think/Redoute’s Choice cross as the Gr.1 winners D’Argento and Inference.
And he boasts three strains of the legendary Nijinsky – noting that So You Think picks up extremely well on his influence; 23 of his stakes winners line-bred to him… including five of his Gr.1 winners.

A debut winner as an odds-on favourite, My Ameila (whose sire Redoute’s Choice has 32 Gr.1 winners amongst his 186 stakes winners as a broodmare sire) boasts a 100% strike rate as a broodmare – all six of her runners being winners including the Gr.1 Champagne Stakes winner The Mission, the three time Gr.3 placed Rosehill winner Smart Amelia and the multiple city winners Typhoon Tavi and Atlantic Ocean.

My Amelia is one of the seven winners (from eight runners) for the very fast More Than Ready mare Carry On Cutie – winner of three of her four juvenile starts including the Gr.1 Champagne Stakes. Grandam of the Gr.1 placed stakes winner Hypothetical, Carry On Cutie is one of the seven winners for her dam who is out of a half-sister to the Gr.1 winner Ghazi and the Gr.2 winning successful stallion Pompeii Court.
