HORSE PROFILE
We were keen to add a Jacquinot to the stable this year and were pleased to secure this colt in for $95,000 from Blue Gum Farm.
Jacquinot looks to have made an excellent start to his stud career, producing sharp, athletic types that impressed us during our inspections at the sale – we expect he will produce early runners and plenty of 2YO winners.
Out of Show Me More, this colt has a great presence and strength and looks like he will get up and running early for his owners.
He has a sharp, fluent walk and looks the sort of horse that will adapt quickly to stable life. We see him as a colt who can make steady progress through his early preparations and continue to build from there.
He’ll be broken in shortly before joining us at Flemington, where he’ll learn our routines before enjoying a spell.
A sharp, early running style of colt by a young sire we think will make a big impression at stud.
PEDIGREE ANALYSIS
Lot 428, 2026 Inglis Classic Sale
The Encosta de Lago sire line just keeps kicking goals and its dual Gr.1 (Golden Rose, C.F Orr Stakes) winning member Jacquinot looks set to add to its success.
The best son of the regally bred Rubick, Jacquinot has his first yearlings being sold this year and this handsome fellow has a lot going for him.
He is the third live foal for the unraced Show Me More (whose sire Showcasing is doing a nice job as a broodmare sire with 12 stakes winners) whose two-year-old The Stripper jumped out well behind the subsequent Gr.3 winner Medicinal.
Show Me More is out of the speedy Stratum mare Misstrum – a stakes winner at two and three. Her dam Malagra Miss was also fast and classy, bolting in with the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes at debut.
Also winning the Inglis Premier and finishing in the placings in Group races on three occasions, she also produced the stakes placed Cinecitta, in turn dam of the Hong Kong Gr.3 winner Thanks Forever. Boasting crosses of the influential mares Fairy Bridge (via Fairy King and Sadler’s Wells) and Shantha’s Choice (grandam of Rubick and dam of Redoute’s Choice), this colt has an exciting pedigree – and he is a member of an outstanding local family.
A descendant of the prolific matriarch Crenelle, he can boast amongst his relations the Gr.1 gallopers Saintly, Taj Rossi, Denman, Storm Queen, Dark Eclipse, Anna Rose, New Gleam, Kiamichi, Arlunya, Stormy Passage, Tenor, Western Pago, Dodge, Tributes, Preserve and God’s Own.
